Information About Therapy

WHO I WORK WITH

I primarily work with adults (18 and older), couples, and families. I work best with people who are seeking positive change, and are motivated to work hard for the life they want. 

In addition to individual psychotherapy, I periodically facilitate closed groups, and provide clinical supervision to other mental health clinicians and interns.

 

INTAKE PAPERWORK

Following your phone consultation, intake paperwork will be emailed to you. Please complete the intake paperwork before your initial session.

 

YOUR INITIAL SESSION

Your first appointment will last approximately 60 minutes. The initial session is usually information heavy.  I will try to get to know you and gain an understanding of where you are in your journey.  We will go over the intake paperwork that you have filled out ahead of time and I will ask clarifying questions to get more in-depth information.  After gathering this comprehensive information, I will talk about how I work.  This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have for me.

 

FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS

Sessions last approximately 50 minutes, unless we have arranged otherwise. During each session, we will do a check-in regarding your week, discuss successes, challenges and setbacks, and goals moving forward. This is a collaborative process, and so I ask that client bring a presenting problem or issue they would like to address in that session.

 

SESSION FREQUENCY

Sessions are scheduled either once or twice a week, depending on the issues presented. 

 

PAYING FOR COUNSELING

  • Individual Therapy (50 min.): $250 per session

  • Couples Therapy (50 min.): $325 per session

  • Supervision for Clinicians (60 min.): $125 per session

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards, cash, and check. I am not currently participating as an in-network provider with any insurance panels at this time. In most cases, therapy can be partially reimbursable by your insurance company. I can provide you with a receipt for out-of-network reimbursement, and assist you in the process of submission for possible reimbursement.

 

CANCELLATIONS

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours beforehand. If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged for the full rate of the session.

TELEHEALTH/ONLINE SESSIONS

Telehealth sessions are available in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. This option is also available for clients who want to work with me and are not local, have difficulty making it to in-person sessions, are out of town, or unavailable to come to the office. This platform can be used on an on-going basis, or when convenient.
